F. Frequently Asked Questions at an Estimate
Can you give me a cost for my move?
"I'm sorry I don't determine the cost. That's done by our sales department. I know that we are very competitive and we work hard to be affordable."
How are costs determined?
Local Moves – "All local moves are based on an hourly rate. We charge $30 per hour per man and $30 per hour per truck. So two men and a truck would cost $90 per hour. Your final cost would be based on the total time of your move. The more you have the more it affects the cost."
In-State Moves – "All instate moves are based on the weight of your items. We determine the weight by weighing the truck before we arrive and then re-weighing it after we load your items. The final cost is based on actual weight of your load. We do our best to estimate this weight as accurately as possible and we are typically within 10% of our estimate."
Out-of-State Moves - "All out-of-state moves are based on the weight of your items. We determine the weight by weighing the truck before we arrive and then re-weighing it after we load your items. The final cost is based on actual weight of your load. We do our best to estimate this weight as accurately as possible and we are typically within 10% of our estimate."
Do you charge extra to pack the boxes?
"Yes packing is based on a per box bases."
Can you schedule my move?
"I'm sorry I don't do the scheduling. All scheduling is done through our office. I will confirm the dates you want but they have to be verified by the office."
How long until I can get my estimate?
"Usually it takes 1-2 days to get an estimate out."
How long will the moving process take?
Local Moves – "Local moves are based on an hourly basis so it really depends on the size of the load. Local moves can really vary – for example a small local can take a couple of hours while a large local could take a couple of days. We will get this information figured as quickly as we can and get back to you with the results."
In-State Moves – "Most instate moves take 2 days; one day to load and the next day to deliver. If you need packing that can add on extra time. For example a full house hold could take a crew an entire day, while a smaller pack job could take a couple of hours."
Out-of-state Moves – "Most Out-of-state moves take one day to load and a little less than a day to unload. We also need to factor in the drive time to where you are moving. If you need packing that can add on extra time. For example a full house hold could take a crew an entire day, while a smaller pack job could take a couple of hours."
What time do you usually start the day?
"We usually get started between 8am-9am. The office will work out the exact start time with you."
Are you insured?
"Yes we are insured. All of our moves include basic coverage at no additional charge. However, if you want more comprehensive coverage, that is an extra charge. Some of our customers have coverage for their move through their home-owners policy as well. Do you want more information on the cost of our full coverage policies?" if so see valuation explanation document

Do I have to be here during the move?
"We would like you to be here for the first part of the move to do a walk through with our moving crew. After that it's no problem if you need to leave as long as we have a phone number to contact you. We also need to have you at the destination to show us where you want things to go and to settle the bill."
